PRODUCTION OPERATOR
Job Hours: Monday - Thursday, 5am - 3pm
Performs a variety of tasks including but not limited to packing, assembling, stacking and modifying parts, products, and/or materials. Tasks can be manual or simplified machine interfacing.
- Read routing slip to determine product type and quantity to be packed/assembled/modified, etc.
- Secure component parts and materials required to meet production requirements.
- Inspect parts to be packed for finish and proper operation to meet Quality standards for the product.
- Prepare boxes for packing and assembly operations.
- Perform systematic transactions pertaining to inventory control.
- Maintain product inventory and stock integrity performing cycle counts as necessary.
- Move materials and work from station to station to maintain consistent flow for each process.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Works as a team member supporting assigned department.
- Flexibility to move from assigned department to other areas within the plant as needed.
- General housekeeping and support of 5S lean standards.
- Perform quality checks to meet standards.
- Follow all safety and environmental regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Position Qualification Requirements
Education
High school or general equivalent diploma (GED).
Experience
None required.
Skills + Knowledge
Requires ability to read and write English, comprehend oral and written instructions, add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions. Ability to read routing slip. Basic data entry skills.
Physical Activities + Demands
Physical demands commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job which requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, push, pull, grasp, talk, hear, and see. The employee is required to lift 25 to 60 pounds occasionally and/or 5 to 25 pounds frequently and/or 1 to 5 pounds continuously from floor to waist and move a distance of 1 to 2 feet.
