REGIONAL SALES MANAGER

Location: Midwest, USA

Position Summary

Build and own key relationships with contract hardware distributors in assigned locations.  Support the profitable growth of key distribution customer’s electronic access control expertise, Hager product mix purchased, and demand creation. Manage and direct Hager Companies’ independent sales agencies and/or direct sales staff for a specified area.

Job Functions

  • Supporting Hager’s go-to market strategies, developing and aligning the sales group to support distributor growth (in profit, in product mix, and in new product / service adoption).
  • Solving distributors elevated issues, collaborating with the VP Distributor Growth in sales budgeting, sales planning, and sales quota management.
  • Supporting business development activities, reviewing market data to determine customer needs, communicating competitor product and pricing information sales incentives, and collaborating on new marketing programs.
  • Own top to top relationships with ideal distributors, key customers, and channel influencers within assigned locations.
  • Grow Hager electronic access control sales and service business expansion through distributors in assigned geography, collaborating with Hager corporate resources.
  • Support, manage, and confirm Hager messaging to customers and sales staff is consistent with corporate directives.
  • Lead sales team in assigned locations to meet / exceed top line revenue and gross margin goals by assuring we are selling the right mix of products to the right customers.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and metric tracking with assigned sales staff (direct & indirect).
  • Manage and operate within regional sales budget including but not limited to head count, commission structures and travel and entertainment expenses.
  • Work collaboratively with Hager’s marketing team to provide customer product needs, volume potentials, marketing pricing, and any approved marketing materials.
  • Support all new product launches and assign goals / quotas for each sales agency.
  • Monitor and manage sales staff performance based on company metrics, provide coaching.
  • Develop, manage, and report on sales pipelines and account specific growth plans through company supported CRM tool(s), maximizing Hager’s specification – quotation – order rates.
  • Deliver monthly operations report focused on regional activity and market feedback.
  • Represent Hager Companies at regional sales shows to promote products.
  • Support internal sales planning process by delivering consistent and cohesive updates on large project quotes and stock conversions. Include in updates estimated product configurations, volumes, and close dates.

 

Position Qualification Requirements

Education: Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a comparable equivalent of education and experience.

Experience: Three years in a sales management position working effectively from a home office.

Skills/Knowledge: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking. Exceptional team building, coaching, collaboration, negotiation, problem solving and decision-making. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, sales management software, and CRM tools.

Travel: Must be able to travel without restrictions, approximately 60% to 70% of the time.

Physical Activities/Demands: Normal office environment which requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and see. May involve the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects of up to 15 to 20 pounds, infrequently.
