ACCOUNTANT

 

Location: St. Louis, MO 

Position Summary

Prepares and records entries by collecting and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances accounts by reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.

Job Functions

  • Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
  • Gather and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts and document business transactions.
  • Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting control procedures.
  • Maintain proper accounting records. Calculate input on sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, payments, receivable, and inventory.
  • Prepare payments vouchers and process petty cash claims.
  • Process suppliers’ invoices for payment.
  • Prepare monthly management report and associated schedules and variance reports.
  • Make assigned quarterly and annual statutory statement pages/schedules.
  • Bank liaison; resolve any banking discrepancies.
  • Assist with annual external audit by preparing assigned schedules for the annual and interim audits.
  • Other related duties as required.

 

Position Qualification Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum four years’ experience in accounting or trading companies. 

Skills/Knowledge: Finance, budgeting, and cost control principles. Experience with accounting software applications, such as Sage. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite. Communication skills, dependable, detail oriented and work well in a team.

Physical Activities/Demands: Normal office environment which requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and see.  May involve the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects of up to 15 to 20 pounds, infrequently.
