Custodial Engineer

This role will be split among two custodial engineers – one full-time and one part-time. Hours listed below:
  • Full-time: M-F 3:30pm – 12:00 am.
  • Part-time: M-F 3:30pm – 7:30 pm.
Cleaning of corporate facility to include: All restrooms, private offices, kitchen/cafeteria, cubicles, exercise room, first and second floor of main office, first and second floor of family building, conference rooms, first and second floor warehouses, front entrance employee entrance, training room, family building kitchen/dining room, coffee areas, etc.

Essential Functions

  1. Maintain all restrooms: Toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, faucets, cleaned and sanitized. Empty trash, wipe down walls, keep cabinets stocked with extra supplies. Hand sanitizer, soap, and paper towel dispensers to be wiped down, filled and batteries replaced as needed. Floors swept, mopped and sanitized every night. Bright metal polished.
  2. Front lobby entrance and reception areas: Clean floors and entrance door glass, dust /wipe reception counter, tables, display tables, and wall displays, as needed. Vacuum carpet and empty trash.
  3. First and second floor main office and private offices: Empty all trash cans, dust the top of cubicle walls, file cabinets, bookshelves, tables, overhead cabinets, chair and table legs, base boards, ledges, vents, picture frames, door frames, vents, etc. Desktops dusted/damp wiped each week. Desk accessories such as calculators, computer screens dusted (if turned off) each week. Water fountains to be cleaned, sanitized and polished daily. Carpets vacuumed every night in high traffic areas, and in cubicles throughout, including behind doors under movable furniture, and under movable equipment weekly. Telephones to be dusted and sanitized weekly. Floor mats to be vacuumed every night.
  4. Lunchroom/kitchen/coffee areas: Vacuum and mop floors, wipe down and sanitize tables every night, clean chairs as needed. Straighten tables and chairs to make presentable. Wipe down all appliances - microwave (inside and out), refrigerator (inside once a month), ice machine, toaster, water cooler, range, etc. Clean out coffee pots. Load dishwasher and put clean dishes away. Take out trash and replace liners every night. Wipe down cabinets (as needed) and counter tops every night. Scrub stains out of sink and wipe down faucet. Clean and dust windowsills.
  5. Exercise/gym area: Clean restrooms/showers in both men and women restrooms as stated above. Wash and replenish bath towels. replenish stock of toilet paper, paper towels, sanitary wipes, soap etc. Vacuum, dust, and wipe down all surfaces as needed.
  6. Family building first and second floor: Dust all furniture, desk, bookshelves, credenzas, end tables etc. Vacuum maintain all restrooms, clean kitchen, boardroom and dining area as stated above. Keep all refrigerators clean and stocked with beverages.
  7. Meeting and conference rooms: Vacuum and dust all surfaces, wipe down all tables and chairs as needed and fully clean all tables. Keep all refrigerators clean and stocked with refreshments. Vacuum, dust, and straighten tables and chairs each night to make rooms presentable. Empty trash cans and all other trash left from meetings.
  8. Elevator: Vacuum carpet, dust and polish handrails. Check and clean glass inside and out to remove fingerprint and smudges.
  9. Warehouse and workshop area: Empty all trash cans, sweep/vacuum loading dock, UPS, and shop areas as needed. Clean slop sink and urinal on a regular basis as needed. Keep paper towel, and soap dispensers full. Replace batteries as needed. Keep dumpster area swept and free of trash. Maintenance/security office needs to be swept, mopped, dusted, and trash removed.
  10. Building security: All gates, front doors, and, garage doors need to be locked each evening. All other doors to be checked and locked throughout the evening. Security alarms need to be set each night when cleaning is finished. Turn lights out in family building and main office.
  11. Order supplies: Fill out order supply form to replenish cleaning supplies needed. When supplies come in, put them on the shelves where the belong.
  12. Additional duties or projects as assigned.
