Location: St. Louis, MO 

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to become part of our team as the Chief Financial Officer. This position requires a proactive, team-oriented leader who can thrive in a growing organization. This highly visible position reports to the President and will interact heavily with executive leadership team. The incumbent will have broad responsibility across corporate and operational financial and accounting functions, directing functions such as: accounting, annual audits, tax compliance, assisting in an ERP implementation, monthly close processes, monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, long range planning, business partnering, modeling, return on investment analysis, family office matters and other value-added financial analysis. Developing and mentoring finance team to become first in class with state-of-the-art processes and procedures.

Job Functions

  • Provide leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team.
  • Ensure proper and timely financial and tax accounting in accordance with GAAP and IRS rules.
  • Oversee annual audits on time and with minimal and or no adjustments.
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard assets.
  • Direct the overall financial plans and accounting practice. Manage the financial performance by developing forecasts and monitoring ongoing performance against plan.
  • Fiduciary responsibility for the financial health of the organization.
  • Provide strong, forward looking analytical leadership and strategic recommendations to members of the executive team.
  • Lead the accounting and finance teams to ensure that both excellence and day-to-day service delivery and future needs.
  • Bring creativity and passion to the organization and possess a broad institutional perspective while embracing change and innovation.
  • Demonstrate proven ability in developing models and conducting analysis that identify critical trends, support strategic decision making and create a forward visibility.
  • Drive change within the organization through robust financial analysis and strong business partnerships.
  • Strategically partner with departments to drive financial success.
  • Develop the forecast, budget, and long-range plan, ensuring alignment of proper resource allocation.
  • Maintain relationships with Senior management and external partners/vendors (banks, audit firms, legal, and insurance brokers).
  • Support Family Business Office model.

Position Qualification Requirements

Education/Knowledge: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance – MBA desired. CPA certification preferred.

Experience: Fifteen plus years of experience in a leadership position, experience in a Manufacturing environment is preferred.

Skills: Demonstrated expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Excellent computer skills required, including Microsoft applications. Microsoft Dynamics preferred. Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and leadership skills. Must be a strategic thinker, a team player and have the ability to balance long and short-term objectives. High level of integrity and results oriented.

Physical Activities/Demands: Normal office environment which requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and see. May involve the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects of up to 15 to 20 pounds, infrequently.
