Customer Service Appreciation Week

This is Customer Service Appreciation Week and we want to take this opportunity to share how fantastic our customer service department is.

Customer service team members are located in St. Louis, Phoenix and Montgomery, with many of the 21 employees having worked at Hager Companies for numerous years. Strong bonds have been formed, both professionally and personally. Celebrations of birthdays, anniversaries, best Halloween costume, Christmas cheer and, most recently, welcoming Fall with a pot luck luncheon, all contribute to the team spirit.

Lock Function Chart

We are in the process of uploading a BHMA lock function chart to our website to make it easy to quickly match what lock function is being specified to our Grade 1, Grade 2 & Grade 3 locksets. This chart will be able to be found under Resources / Product Information / Locks.

Founded in 1925, as the Hardware Manufacturers’ Statistical Association, the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) role has been developing standards for the wide range (and getting wider) of builders hardware. There are three levels of grades for locksets based on the number of cycles an owner can expect the product to withstand. Grade 1 is the heaviest duty, passing 2,500,000 cycles while Grade 3 passes just 350,000 cycles. The price difference between Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3 varies and may present an occasion to save the owner money on a project. Specifying a Grade 1 lock on a main entry office door is highly recommended but there is opportunity to save dollars by utilizing a Grade 2 lock on a door opening used less frequently, like a closet door. That said it is important not to undersize the lock grade on a door opening in order to save money as it could cost more in repairs in the future. More …

Instructional Videos

We have been working hard to add to our video library on our YouTube channel.  Yesterday we added 4 new videos for your viewing pleasure.  Well not exactly for pleasure but definitely to help explain certain actions such as how to adjust a door closer or how to hand a mortise lock. Sometimes seeing how to perform a task is a lot easier than reading the instructions, especially when it has to do with door hardware!  More …

CONSTRUCT CSI 2014

We will be exhibiting at the 2014 CSI CONSTRUCT Show in Baltimore, Maryland this September 10th & 11th. This is always a fun show for us for a variety of reasons but mainly the people. We always meet new friends and it is great catching up with old pals.

Each year we try to think of something clever and useful to giveaway as “the” prize. We were struggling with this a few weeks ago when we heard that in 2015 the CSI CONSTRUCT show will be in St. Louis – our home city. Boy that got the ol’ juices flowing on possible prizes. We wanted to showcase both St. Louis & our company and with that in mind we developed the “Meet Me in St. Louis” prize package.

Stop by Booth 349 and unlock the opportunity to win the following:

If the key you choose unlocks the deadbolt you will be able to drop your business card into the box. At the end of the show we will draw one card and that will be the lucky winner.

We hope you will stop by, test how lucky you are and also take a look at our newest products.

See you in Baltimore!

CONSTRUCT Bloggers Panel

Photo via CSI

The construction industry has been slow in accepting social media and blogging as a form of communications, educating and networking. This writer has been in the door and hardware industry for 20 years and on social media for 6 years so it was with interest I attended the Blogger’s Panel at the 2013 CONSTRUCT show. The panel was filled with other like-minded industry professionals that understood the value of this new platform. More …
